CM Darlene Mealy expresses concern about the bill's impact on her district, noting that giving property owners 30 extra feet could lead to future property tax increases. This is not going to impact property taxes.
This has been confirmed by other agencies.
And so we want to see the housing get built.
This is affordable housing for folks in our community.
Lead to a community center that is much needed in that area.
And they've already started putting resources towards developing it and having community visioning sessions with people from our neighborhood and our surrounding community boards.
So we really, really hope that we can move this along quickly.
