Abreu references prior amnesty programs and hearing goals
Abreu notes similar ECB amnesty programs were authorized in 2019, 2016, and 2021, collecting millions in outstanding debt, and states the committee wants to learn about prior results and how this program will increase collections and revenue.
The council has authorized similar ECB amnesty programs in the past, including programs in 2019, 2016, and 2021, which resulted in the collection of millions of dollars in outstanding judgment debt.
We look forward to hearing more today about the results of those prior programs, as well as how this proposed program is expected to increase collections, generate revenue, and otherwise benefit the city.
