Dinowitz questions monitoring systems for detecting outages
Dinowitz asks what systems exist to know if systems are online or if there's an outage. Gelobter confirms monitoring exists at different infrastructure levels but can't detail for security reasons. She adds interim manual measures including hourly call recording sampling and PD call taker training on dead air call escalation.
What are systems that we have in place currently to let us know whether the systems we have are online or there's an outage?
Yes, thank you for that question.
There is current monitoring systems at different levels of the infrastructure.
And again, I can't get into too much detail on that because of security concerns.
But in addition to the technological monitoring that is in place, we have all of the agencies are working together collaboratively to ensure that there are
manual systems today that will be looking at looking to try to capture any of these issues that might reoccur.
So whether that is manually or hourly sampling call recordings, we are working with the PD call takers to figure out what the right criteria is
to escalate what I would term dead air calls, and then as well what that process should be to investigate them and deliver a substantiation of the issue.
So there are a number of things that we are looking at.
There are already some things that we have put into place in the interim, and then we also need to figure out the long-term strategy.
