Chair Louis questions Grinshtein on Community Board 10 concerns
Chair Louis asks how the applicant is addressing Community Board 10's concerns. Grinshtein explains the revised design with contextual setbacks at six stories, two distinct masses, and historic materials responding to architectural concerns.
All right.
Thank you so much.
I have a couple of questions, and I'll hand it over to Councilmember Sato Soso.
How are you addressing Community Board 10's concerns given the recommendation to disapprove this proposal?
Well, what you see here is a building that speaks to the architectural sort of comments and concerns.
And so we pivoted in providing something that we believe is more contextual to the neighborhood and that fits better while maintaining the same basic mass, albeit a small reduction from the 6.0.
It's an 11-story building, and it sets back at six stories, which is essentially the community context.
And it breaks it apart into two masses that...
that are allowed, the rearrangement allows us to have the height at the corner where it's most appropriate and then, you know, a very large sort of reduction in the center of the site at six stories
with another massing.
So it, instead of looking like a very large
300-foot-long building.
It looks like two different buildings, and again, with a more historic context.
