Krishnan asks about 38 discontinued AI programs and policy implementation costs
Krishnan asks about the 38 programs DOE announced it would discontinue or disable AI components for, requesting the full list, and asks about projected costs for implementing the AI and screen time policy. DOE says it will share the list and doesn't have cost figures yet.
On this.
Second, two weeks ago, DOE announced it would discontinue or disable the AI components of 38 previously allowed programs.
As of today, the DOE has not released the list of those programs.
Will the DOE provide the committees with the full list of all 38 programs, indicating which are being discontinued entirely and which are having AI features disabled?
Yes, to Lara's point, the 38 is part of we're checking with vendors to make sure and giving them the opportunity to also connect with us on what it has, what it doesn't have, and if it can still apply for use inside of our schools.
But those will be shared with the committees?
I believe that is the intention.
Okay.
What is the DOE's projected cost to implement the AI and screen time policy for fiscal 2027,
including things like staffing, the expanded contract review, the technology and school coalition, and the AI literacy modules, which again, my opinion,
is that the company should be paying for it, given that we're piloting it.
But please, what's the projected cost?
I think I'm going to have to get back to you on that.
I don't think we have that number with us.
One second.
