Zhuang asks DFTA about SCRIE referral process and numbers
Zhuang questions Ryan Murray of DFTA on how the agency identifies and refers SCRIE-eligible older adults, with Murray reporting 1,752 individuals enrolled through older adult centers and 2,340 through case management programs, and describing outreach through town halls and PEU enrollment days.
Now we're going to do the question part.
So I have my first, I will ask a question and then I will turn to the other chairs.
The first question, how does DFTA and the NYC agent participate in identification and the referral process?
Screen eligible older adults, how many referrals did DFTA, Older Adult Center, case managers, and associate staff make in last year?
Good afternoon.
Chairs, Ryan Murray from the Department for the Aging.
And so we obviously defer to on eligibility and targeting to DOF.
However, as you know, given our infrastructure, where we are citywide with our 308 older adult centers, and we have our case management programs,
our education, outreach, case assistance, and case management services allow us to make sure that folks have the most up-to-date information on SCREET, and we make those referrals.
So what we can tell you is we have over 1,752 individuals in our OSC network who
have SCREET as of last year, that's fiscal year, and over 2,340 individuals who are enrolled in SCREET through our case management program.
What we've done with Department of Finance is host, as you've heard from the first deputy commissioner, whether it was targeted outreach at our older adult centers, we've had town halls.
We have also worked with the Mears Public Engagement Unit to be present in community and have enrollment days at our centers and continue to disseminate information.
