Dinowitz asks DOE not to cut affinity contracts supporting Portrait-aligned learning
Dinowitz notes the affinity contract was considered for cuts last budget cycle and asks for a commitment not to cut it. Giunta says DOE is not in budget season but takes the feedback and values affinity partners.
You know, I think last year when we were looking for cost savings across the agency, there was a lot of conversations.
I think what really ended up being at the forefront of the conversation was not necessarily the full affinity contract.
We were looking at all sorts of aspects.
So we are not in that season yet, but I will take your feedback.
I will take your comment also as feedback.
And we are very, very grateful for our affinity partners and the work that they're doing and we look forward to partnering with them in the scaling of this work because they have a real strength and blueprint
of how this can look and the kinds of support our schools will need that aren't directly working with them.
I want to amend what you said.
I wouldn't call it my feedback.
I would call it a supplement to your feedback.
