Brewer asks DSS about EHV vouchers and federal funding deadline
Brewer asks about roughly 2,000 people losing federal emergency housing vouchers. Scott French says a whole-of-administration approach with HPD and NYCHA is underway, state HAVP vouchers are coming, and the timeline rolls into the end of December.
And then the other question just quickly is, there are 2,000 people who still need vouchers, right, because they're getting kicked off of other vouchers from the federal government.
Are you on top of that?
You're going to give them all vouchers?
I'll jump in there in a second, but I think I just also want to clarify first, it's not owners doing the inspections for the other two-thirds, it's the DHS providers doing those inspections.
I just want to sort of be clear on that.
Regarding the EHV, which I believe you're referring to, I believe that is sort of a whole-of-admin approach is being utilized to address that
need amongst those individuals.
I think the...
HPD.
The final details are being sort of developed between us, HPD, NYCHA.
There are some, you know, vouchers from the state that are coming available, HAVP, and some other vouchers as well.
So I think the admin is very much focused on the housing stability of those households at risk.
But it is something that's being done across.
Do you have a November deadline?
Is that right?
I believe it's the end of December is where it's rolling into.
So I believe there's also some things still at the federal government happening around that as well.
Maybe the meeting yesterday helped.
You never know.
Also, Chris Gensel is very good.
I don't agree.
Sometimes what he tells me, but he does get back to me.
Thank you very much.
I would have to agree with that assessment.
Okay.
