Banks asks parent vs. child work order breakdown; Greene details craft backlogs
Banks asks for the breakdown of parent and child work orders. Greene says about 110,000 are parent work orders and 496,000 are child work orders, then lists open tickets by craft, including 83,000 carpenter and 150,000 painter work orders.
Let me then move to this question.
And what is the breakdown for the total parent work orders and total child work orders?
Sure.
So of the 606,000, I'm just going to say 606 just because it's a little bit easier to roll off the tongue.
It's 8,000.
110,000 are parent work orders and 496,000 approximately are child work orders.
And then I'd like to give you the breakdown by craft because that's important for understanding the breakdown for skilled trade.
So right now, our bricklayers have about 7,800 tickets open.
Our carpenters, which we heard about some challenges that we have with carpentry tickets, about 83,000 open.
That's actually down from where it was two years ago by about 4,000 work orders, but have about 83,000 open right now.
Our electricians have 13,000 work orders open.
Our glaziers who handle our glasswork have 2,700 tickets open.
Our painters, and this is a critical number here, 150,000 work orders open for painters, and that's just NYCHA painters.
Plasters is about 37,600.
Plumbers, 16,700.
And roofers, 50.
A lot of those work orders were discharged.
generated yesterday, but some of them are aging.
For exterminators, we have about 10,000, 1,100 tickets open.
For maintenance, we have about 16,700 tickets open.
And putting that in perspective, we get 98,000 maintenance work orders per month.
For the other crafts, which can include heating, which can include lead personnel, is about $47,000.
For vendors, and this is another key number here, it's $221,000.
And that's a big part of the one-year plus, two-year plus backlog is the vendor tickets, which I can talk about if you'd like me to.
