Banks asks why trade completion times rose; Greene distinguishes days-to-complete from SLA
Banks notes skilled trade or vendor days-to-complete rose from 77 in FY2022 to 130 in FY2025. Greene says days-to-complete has come down this year, while the overall SLA metric includes aging open tickets such as paint and floor tile work.
Days to complete, like the skilled trades or vendor work orders, increased from 77 in the fiscal year 2022 and to 130 in fiscal year 2025.
What happened?
So the days to complete, actually, the current year, the days to complete have come down for trades this year.
What has increased is the overall SLA for trades, which is, so there's two different metrics that we use to analyze time at NITRA.
First is the days to complete, and that will look at all the work orders that we closed in a given day or time period and how old those work orders were upon the date that they were completed.
So that gives a good perspective of the work that we're getting done, where we're getting work done, how old is that work that we're getting done.
The second metric that we use to measure time is the SLA.
And that's very important because that incorporates open tickets.
So the open tickets...
Age, and a lot of them are the, oh, that one year plus category, they age, and they're tickets that
mainly paint tickets, but also floor tile tickets and some other big chunks that age for a long time due to resource constraints and due to also some of the challenges logistically with doing some of that work.
For example, floor tiles, where we have about 57,000 tickets open, those age because we need money for asbestos, which the city council has provided to us and the state has also provided to us, but without that funding
and also without relocation, we're not able to get that huge number done.
But I can give you the days to complete as of today, which is illustrative of some of the improvements for the trades.
Okay.
