Hollingsworth describes failed renovations, leaks, and repeated relocations
Hollingsworth says residents returned to apartments represented as newly renovated only to be relocated again due to leaks, sewage backups, and falling ceilings. She asks why contractors continue moving apartment to apartment before determining why completed work failed.
Residents were promised major renovations and improvements, yet work that has only recently been completed is already experiencing serious failures.
Residents have temporarily relocated for construction and then returned to apartments represented as newly renovated and then had to be relocated again because of conditions including serious leaks,
sewage backing up into apartments, falling ceilings, and other failures occurring during renovation.
This raises a basic question.
If recently completed work is already failing, why are the contractors being permitted to continue moving from apartment to apartment without first determining why that work failed and whether the same problems are being repeated elsewhere?
Residents should not become the quality control inspectors for a multi-million dollar rehabilitation project.
