Brewer asks De La Cruz about publishing SNAP outcomes and using influencers
Brewer asks whether PEU will publish outcomes of SNAP outreach and whether it uses influencers; De La Cruz says publishing falls under the Department of Social Services and that PEU does not work with influencers and has no budget for it.
So that would be a situation where you could use influencers to tell
people that they need to sign up in order to not lose their benefits for work or volunteer.
Do you have some sense of whether you've done that, number one?
And number two, are you going to be publishing for the public to know?
I mean, I have been in enough forums and all the numbers, I can't remember.
For those who would be cut off,
if in fact they don't participate and volunteer or work, whatever other crazy ideas the federal government has.
So are you going to be telling the public what kinds of efforts have been successful, number one, and number two, do you use influencers to talk about what you're doing or to help you do what you do?
To your question about whether we're going to be telling the public about how to make sure that they keep their benefits, we're going to continue to do that.
No, I'm asking you, will you be telling people what the outcome is?
In other words, successful.
I can't remember.
There's a huge number of New Yorkers who would be cut off if they do not participate, right?
So will you be publishing that information as to what's been successful or not?
I think that falls under the scope of the Department of Social Services.
Okay.
To publish the information?
Right.
What about using influencers to get your message?
Is that something that you're doing?
We do not work with influencers.
We do not have budget for that.
I mean, our core priority.
to make sure that as many New Yorkers as possible are aware about the benefits and services that they need, making sure that as many New Yorkers as possible know about changes that may come
to the benefits and services available to them through the city.
We welcome the opportunity.
To work with people who are interested in spreading that message, but we do not work with influencers at this time.
Okay.
