Brewer outlines four preconsidered bills before the committee
Brewer describes the four preconsidered bills: two sponsored by Minority Leader Carr on prohibiting candidates in government-funded third-party communications and reporting on third-party public communications, one by Council Member Feliz on disclosures for government-funded communications, and one by Council Member Wong on campaign finance disclosures for online content.
In addition to oversight today, we will be hearing four pre-considered bills.
One which is sponsored by Minority Leader Carr in relation to prohibiting candidates from appearing in certain government-funded third-party communications during an election campaign.
Another one sponsored by Minority Leader Carr.
by Minority Leader Carr in relation to reporting on third-party public communications.
And another one sponsored by Councilmember Feliz in relation to requiring disclosures on third-party public communication paid for with government resources.
And finally, one sponsored by Councilmember Wong.
In relation to requiring campaign finance disclosures in content posted on internet websites, digital applications, and social media platforms,
and directing the Campaign Finance Board to issue guidance regarding the disclosure, record keeping, and reporting requirements applicable to such content.
