Chair Encarnación asks about IRC review of contracts and data sharing
Chair Encarnación asks how often the IRC will review contracts and data-sharing agreements to protect New Yorkers' data privacy. Ali says the audit reviewed technologies and vendors for data risks and confirmed required identifying information law provisions were included.
So how frequently do you feel like the IRC will review contracts, data sharing agreements between the city and third parties to ensure data privacy for New Yorkers?
Yeah, thank you for that question as well.
And I do want to just pivot back because I want to make sure we also highlight that the completion of the audit doesn't mean a completion of the IRC's work.
And just want to stress that that is ongoing.
With respect to contracts, this was also part of an ongoing review.

The IRC has reviewed, the audit confirmed that agencies included the necessary identifying information law writer and other contract provisions pertaining to data sharing limitations that is required by local law.
As I mentioned up top, the IRC is going to continue to monitor these issues and work with agencies on updating their practices as things evolve.
