Chair Encarnación asks about reporting incidents to the AG's office
Chair Encarnación asks whether protocols and trainings include detailed reporting to the Attorney General's office when incidents occur. Ali says it is part of Local Law 228 reporting and the city encourages over-inclusive reporting of any interaction that may relate to immigration enforcement.
Thank you.
Actually, in part of the...
Protocols and trainings that you all have, is there a detailed about reporting when an incident like this happenings, for example, to like the AG's office, that there is now a system in place that they can report?
Is that part of the training?
protocol so people know what to do if someone does push past them and go forward?
Yeah, that's a great question.
That is part of our local law 228 reporting and part of the enhanced protocol there.
And I feel like I've referenced, I continue to reference this because I think it's a really important point, is the over-inclusive reporting that is now being encouraged.
Any interaction, if it smells like an immigration, we want to make sure that that is reflective in the reports that are shared with MOIA.
And so we are looking, that is one way to capture these incidents, and that is one way that these incidents have been captured in these reports as well.
And so in those trainings, it does include like what they should be detailing, taking information on pictures, if anything, videos or anything like that, that all can be submitted as part of the reporting.
I will have to get back to you on what exact information, if it includes videos or other footage.
Yeah, we can follow up on that.
Great.
