Q&A

Narcisse asks whether H&H has enough licensed mental health clinicians

New York City Council · Sep 23, 2026 · starts 0:48:26 · 1 min 7 sec

Narcisse asks about clinician capacity for TGNB patients. Fattal says H&H child and adolescent behavioral services have capacity across boroughs, patients can be referred internally or call 1-844-NYC4NYC, and Narcisse praises H&H for not turning people away.

Mercedes Narcisse

Does H&H have enough licensed mental health clinicians to serve TGNB patients?

Omar Fattal

Yes, I'm happy to share that we do have capacity to, in our child and adolescent behavioral services, we offer the whole spectrum of services for children and adolescents in all boroughs.

Omar Fattal

And we welcome all New Yorkers, including LGBTQ plus patients.

Omar Fattal

And we've made it very easy for people to access care in our system.

Omar Fattal

Two ways.

Omar Fattal

One is that they can be referred by their medical team, and their medical team can connect them internally to behavioral services, or people can call on their own.

Omar Fattal

It's one number, the contact center.

Omar Fattal

I can mention it, 1-844-NYC4NYC, and all they have to say is, I want to be connected to behavioral services, and we take care of it from there.

Mercedes Narcisse

And by the way, I'm very proud of H&H providing those services because we know when other hospital facilities are not receiving patients, H&H, you know, if you're listening to know that H&H is on your side, the city hospital never turned people away.
