Garner describes B2G platform for real-time MWBE payments data
Garner says the city is creating a new MWBE IT platform called B2G, modeled on New York State's system, to capture contract awards and payments centrally. He says the platform will go live within the fiscal year and will shift focus from awards to payments.
So two things are happening, and I'm glad that you asked that question.
And so we have been working with creating a new MWBE information technology platform called B2G.
And it is the same platform that was instituted at the state of New York.
And my deputy here was in charge of instituting that program, that platform, at 97 different agencies and state authorities.
And what this new platform is going to do is it's going to not only allow us in a centralized manner to capture MWBE contract awards,
but more importantly, the payments.
And so we are now going to...
pivot from MWBE awards and highlighting the awards, but we're now going to more importantly focus on the payments of MWBEs.
We're currently working internally right now.
That process will go live in a very, very short period of time.
Do you expect the B2G to go live this year?
This fiscal year?
Yes, we are.
Yes.
Yes, absolutely.
