Palatnik addresses not-for-profit dispute and fallback operator
Palatnik says the project was proposed by a not-for-profit but a contract dispute arose with the owner, Centers Healthcare. He hopes the not-for-profit can be restored as operator, but if not, Centers Healthcare will develop the long-term care facility itself.
And I'll mention the final note is the building is being proposed by a not-for-profit.
The not-for-profit has been the one pursuing the application along with ownership of the property.
There has been a bit of a dispute between the two in the last few weeks.
Maybe some people on the committee may have heard about that.
They are working to resolve it so that the not-for-profit can continue on and operate, continue on, build and operate the premises.
And should that not happen, which everybody is working towards, and we're hoping we'll use the full ULURP timeframe to let them achieve that.
If that should not be the case, then the owner of the property currently
will develop the property as a long-term care facility themselves.
But we are desperately trying to save the relationship with the not-for-profit.
And I want to thank the council member who has been involved in discussions with everybody in the midst of his holiday, as well as everybody else who's been involved to do so.
And we're hoping that we'll have a resolution to report to you at some point in the future before this is over.
Thank you very much for your time.
