Chair Joseph asks if CUNY has a numeric study abroad enrollment goal
Chair Joseph asks whether CUNY has set a target number of students for study abroad. Holland says numeric targets are important but CUNY needs to come back with a goal and should also consider future students and whether they view CUNY as offering these opportunities.
Is there, does CUNY has set a goal to see how many students it can enroll for study abroad?
Is there a number?
Is there a goal that you're setting?
That, hey, I want to get this particular, this amount of students to study abroad.
Is that something you guys are working on?
So it's a fair question.
You and Councilmember Dinowitz, I think we need to come back at that.
But I would like to say that although numeric targets are important, in some ways, they're always looking around the corner at the next term or two or year or two.
I really like an approach which is also informed by looking at down the road who is coming to CUNY.
And do they think about CUNY as a place where they're going to have these opportunities?
And to that end, I think, although it's small scale, there is something that Professor Rothman has done, which I think has planted some amazing seeds.
And I hope she can speak to that now.
