Gutiérrez requests dual-language application counts
Gutiérrez asks how many applications NYCPS receives for dual-language programs by target language. Branch reports 28 Russian and 60 Spanish 3K applicants, and 1,574 Spanish pre-K applicants among other languages.
I want to ask a question about, I think we kind of touched on this, but how many applications does NYCPS receive for dual language programs?
And do you have a breakdown of those applications by target language?
Okay, so we do have a breakdown.
So for 3K, we received 28 applicants for Russian, the language Russian, and 60 for Spanish.
So those are for the two 3K programs that we opened this year.
Now in terms of pre-K.
17 Arabic, 129 Chinese, 100 French, 47 Italian, 24 Korean, 34 Polish,
60 Russian, and 1,574 Spanish.
Wow.
That's a lot of demand.
What are we doing?
We're not moving fast enough.
We're doing something right, right?
That too.
That's great.
Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, in terms of 3K, yes.
We're starting and, you know, we're looking at the data to see where and when we can expand 3K.
But the demand is there.
Yeah, I mean, clearly.
Families trust us and want their children in these programs.
So we're excited about that.
How long are...
How long have these pre-K dual language programs been in existence?
