Honda highlights legacy efforts and permanent public space projects
Honda says the mayor wanted a legacy beyond the final whistle. She describes EDC's Choose NYC Summit with 350 attendees from 150 businesses and 34 countries, plus permanent projects like a bus lane near LaGuardia and a Brooklyn Bridge bike connection.
But the mayor's mandate was clear.
We needed to build a legacy that lasted beyond the final whistle.
That's why the city's Economic Development Corporation leveraged the global attention surrounding the event to connect businesses with city leadership, highlight opportunities for investment and expansion, and showcase New York City as a destination for growth and innovation.
During the tournament, NYC EDC hosted its annual Choose NYC Summit, bringing together more than 350 attendees representing 150 businesses from 34 countries.
EDC also organized site visits and tours across multiple neighborhoods.
And New York City Tourism welcomed guests, encouraged them to explore the breadth of the city, and ultimately created return visitors.
Our city launched projects to permanently transform public spaces, like a new bus lane near LaGuardia Airport, a dedicated bike and pedestrian connection near the Brooklyn Bridge, and much more.
