Thomas-Henry asks about $200M budget and local business spending
Thomas-Henry asks for the host committee's total budget. Lasry says it was upwards of $200 million, and Thomas-Henry asks how much was spent with local businesses and MWBEs.
What was the total budget?
We were upwards of $200 million.
And of that $200 million,
$100 million, $10 million was spent with local businesses?
No, more than that was spent with local businesses.
But again, we had to go across New York and New Jersey.
Okay.
Do you have an idea of what that small business or local business spend was?
I can get that for you.
Okay.
And do you know, and of that number was roughly 30% of that to MWBEs?
I mean, it's a little bit more, I don't think it's as simple as looking at how that broke out because for a lot of these mega events and kind of the big watch parties that we're putting on,
one, we didn't produce a lot of them.
So we would hire a production company.
So for Central Park, Global Citizen would put that on.
So it's a little bit more difficult for us to break out exactly how the percentages of spend there.
Also, there are only so many companies that can actually put on some of those watch parties and have the resources to be able to do that in such a tight time frame.
With that being said, I don't have the percent breakdown of what was spent with MWBs.
