Gennaro asks about Army Corps storm surge barriers
Gennaro asks to what extent the Army Corps and HATS have embraced storm surge barriers and whether NYC could plan and deploy them. Prabilski says the Corps proposed barriers in reports but is not actively studying them.
Here's another question out of nowhere.
Oh, am I holding you up?
You probably just have a couple things you want to say, right?
Okay, let me just do this one thing, and then I'm going to put you on, okay?
And so...
Then I'll go back.
I have more prepared questions.
But to what extent, and I should know more about this, but I don't, to what extent has the Army Corps and the HAT study
embraced storm surge barriers?
So there's their view of storm surge barriers.
And do you believe that your bureau and New York City as an entity has the ability to
plan for and deploy, you know, storm surge barrier technology, or is that kind of a bridge too far for our little town on the Hudson to, like, put that together and finance that?
We're talking big money here.
So first is, like, the vision of storm surge barriers by the Army Corps, and then...
Do what, you know, to what ability, you know, does our little town have the ability to do that on our own?
That's a good question.
If I do say so myself.
