New York City Council · Sep 30, 2026 · starts 0:55:05 · 57 sec

Prabilski says RISE will finish this year, procurement for the comprehensive plan starts next year, and the plan will take about two to three years. It will begin with visioning and listening to coastal communities and agencies.

Catherine Prabilski

Yeah.

Catherine Prabilski

The, right, RISE will be complete at the end of this year.

Catherine Prabilski

And then there's building blocks and it's typology and really kind of breaking out the coastline.

Catherine Prabilski

And then the comprehensive plan.

James F. Gennaro

New York State had a whole RISE program.

Catherine Prabilski

Wait, well, it's different.

Catherine Prabilski

I know.

Catherine Prabilski

And then.

James F. Gennaro

Thank God.

James F. Gennaro

Yeah, thank God.

Catherine Prabilski

And then, so with the funding that we received this year, it includes funding to.

Catherine Prabilski

both hire planners and procure consultants to support us in developing that plan.

Catherine Prabilski

So we should start procurement on the actual comprehensive plan next year.

Catherine Prabilski

And then it'll take, I believe, I don't have the two years to complete the plan, maybe three.

James F. Gennaro

Okay, so two or three years to do the whole plan.

Catherine Prabilski

And the first part of it will be a lot of that visioning, listening, understanding, building on rise, but visioning, listening, understanding with our coastal community and with our agencies and all the work that they're doing.
