Brooks-Powers pivots to Rosedale flooding and FRANK funding
Brooks-Powers acknowledges the administration's door-knocking in the Rockaways during the nor'easter but says infrastructure projects need to move faster. She says Rosedale and Brookville Park were badly flooded, requests NYCEM and DEP resources for Rosedale, and asks how much funding FRANK receives and how long its contract lasts.
And I'm going to end on this.
I do want to pivot to the Nor'easter that happened this weekend.
And I acknowledge the administration for door knocking through the rockaways to be proactive.
I will say, which is not for you all, but on the record, I do feel like a lot of our infrastructure projects need to happen quicker
to be able to handle the current state of our climate impacts on the communities like the peninsula and the inland because we're seeing it more.
That leads me to Rosedale.
Rosedale took in a significant amount of water this weekend and damaged.
Brookville Park was completely underwater.
And there were a lot of homes that were deeply impacted by the storm.
I know that there has been a focus on the coastal communities.
Primarily as we do need it.
But I do want to ask NISM as well as, and I'll follow up on this, DEP to come into the community with some resources.
I know you said you guys had delivered a number of
resources over the weekend, which was great, but Rosedale is requesting to have an event where they can also get like the flood centers and the pumps and all of those things too.
And then my last question is, I know you're funding
Frank in Far Rockaway.
I just wanted to understand how much is that funding and how long is that contract?
