Hankerson asks most common denial reasons
Hankerson asks what most commonly leads to denials. Cerrone says location and size mismatch, such as requesting a 20,000-person event in a park that has historically handled 2,000.
It's possible that we would have staff at the park that observed that, and then in those cases they may call our, or I suspect they would call our Parks Enforcement Office to issue summonses.
But if we're at a point where, like, the event happened and we didn't know about it and we didn't document it, it becomes much harder for us to hold people like that accountable.
Understood.
I'm going to speed it up a little bit because I know we do have public testimony and we're going on 90 minutes now.
So I'm going to ask a few more questions and then I'll open up a public testimony and then we'll close this hearing.
How does the department and NYPD determine the security needs for a certain event?
