Commissioner Flynn testifies on Intro 389 (moped registration verification)
Flynn supports the intent of Intro 389 requiring third-party delivery services to verify moped registration, while working to mitigate worker protection concerns.
Next, Intro 389, sponsored by Council Member Ressler.
This bill would require third-party food delivery services to verify the registration of mopeds used by food delivery workers.
Mopeds are already required to be registered at the point of sale, and we support the intent of this bill as we want to ensure third-party delivery apps are held accountable to also verify registration, while also working with our sister agency, DCWP,
to mitigate potential worker protection concerns.
