Farías asks about salary equity for NGBV appointees
Farías asks whether NGBV employees will keep equivalent salaries next year. Delany-Brumsey says combining four offices with different pay scales requires careful equitable review, no significant decisions have been made, and the goal is appropriate staffing.
Okay.
So we'll just stay in communication on how that continues to move forward.
While there's restructuring and changing of title,
the amount of work conducted by NGBV will remain the same or increase.
Do you expect all appointees and employees at NGBV to keep a salary next year that is equivalent to this year?
So again, we are looking, as you can imagine, combining four offices means there's also different pay scales.
There's a lot of work to be done to ensuring that we are being equitable.
We have not made any significant decisions at this moment because we are trying to work very closely with the office as well as our city partners to ensure that any changes that we make are equitable.
However, the goal is to ensure that we have appropriate staffing to do this work.
As the work continues and builds, we will need additional staff, we will need additional funding, and that is the work of myself, the leadership team that I work with, the administration to ensure that the work is appropriately staffed.
As you heard from Commissioner Sethi, we have actually been able to fill some vacancies that have not been filled in the past, and so we are working towards ensuring that we have the robust staffing that we need to do the growing and important work.
