Farías extends public testimony to three minutes and calls next panel
Farías extends public testimony to three minutes to respect survivor experiences and accommodate the hearing schedule. She calls Shamara Kelly, Madeline Garcia-Bigelow, Sherry Yvette Barnett, Mildred Ramos, and later Taina Bien-Aimé and Luz Katari.
Before I call the next panel, I'm just going to make the executive decision here, and I apologize to the two previous panels.
I'm going to move the time to three minutes for public testimony.
I feel like I'm allowing a lot of...
of flexibility anyhow.
And just so when the buzzer goes off, you know your time is actually done.
I'm trying to be respectful of folks'experiences and what folks are having the strength to come and testify in front of the council.
And I want to be respectful of that, but also knowing that I have a clock of hearing right after us at one o'clock with the folks that are present.
So if the sergeants can change the clock to three minutes, and that will be the cutoff time, I would appreciate that.
Thank you, Councilmember Gutierrez.
I would now like to call up Shamara Kelly, Madeline Garcia-Bigelow, Sherry Yvette Barnett, and Mildred Ramos.
And I will give one last try at Tanisha Sanders if she's in the room and did not hear me earlier.
Thank you.
Oh, perfect.
Shamara, you can begin.
Can you just press your microphone?
You're okay.
Restart the time.
Okay, just to fill some seats.
Taina Bien-Ame and Luz Katari or Luz Figueroa, if you can also come up.
Just because we have empty seats.
You can begin when ready.
