Gutiérrez asks whether 311 access will be affected by restructuring
Gutiérrez asks whether the move under OCS could create delays for people calling 311 or searching for NGBV. Delany-Brumsey says no extra layer is anticipated, NGBV's website will remain, and OCS will link to it.
Thank you, Chair.
Thank you all so much.
I had also just a couple of questions.
One logistically under the Mayor's Office and gender-based violence under the Office of Community Safety.
Does that affect...
The way that anyone would maybe call 311 for more information related to this office.
Is there another person or another, like, is there a delay?
Because it's now not its own standalone office.
It's under this, like, bigger and larger umbrella.
So just logistically.
Yeah, no, no, that's a great question.
They're an anticipated extra person, extra 10 seconds of, like, research.
And if you don't know, let's figure it out.
No, no, no.
I was just thinking about how to respond to that.
I think it's a great question.
I don't anticipate that there will be an extra layer of access.
For example, we will continue to have the NGB.
NGBV's website, as we build out our OCS website, people will still be able to find that.
The OCS website will link to the NGBV website.
Our goal will be to ensure as we're building this out that people have very easy, very quick access to community safety work.
That is a North Star for all of the work that we're doing.
And so I would want to ensure that as we're building this, we will continue to work very closely with the leadership across.
NGBV across our other offices to say how are New Yorkers finding out about our work and how do we ensure that even more New Yorkers find out about our work that we are easier and easier to find no matter what.
Thank you.
Well, I would love to circle back at some point to see if that is the case.
I think that sometimes, and again, this is someone that's like calling 311.
I think if it's online, it's a little different.
But just speaking with some of the folks at the call center, sometimes they're not necessarily privy to some of the changes that are happening, either that we legislate or even that City Hall does.
And so it would just be helpful or maybe just to connect with them and ensuring that like they're up to date.
Again, don't want to delay an emergency.
