Luz Katari describes abuser using child support and stalking
Katari says her abuser is using child support proceedings to try to incarcerate her and continue abuse, and that he still stalks her. She says she cannot work due to agoraphobia, PTSD, and physical symptoms, and argues abusers should never have the option to put victims in jail.
I just wanted to add one last thing about you saying about the bravery.
And another part of my situation that's going on that I don't think a lot of maybe the council or even just the organizations know, but there are certain situations where.
The unthinkable scenarios happen with survivors and you wouldn't think it's like feasible, possible or whatever.
But as of right now, I am going through child support, fighting my abuser only because he wants to incarcerate.
to rape me and continue his abuse with me, even though I am unable to work at the moment due to his abuse.
I have agoraphobia, anxiety, PTSD, and palpitations.
And because of that, I can't work because, as you saw earlier, I have to travel with someone all the time.
My shakes are bad.
I can't stand for too long due to his abuse.
I can't be outside in public due to the abuse because to this day he still stalks me.
Mentioned him stalking me in child support court.
And when I brought it up to my attorney, my attorney told me it had nothing to do with child support.
And situations like that is the problem where they still are finding ways to abuse us.
And when we bring it up in those certain areas, because it doesn't have to do with what we're there for, they don't care about it.
And I keep pushing the issue with my lawyer that.
Because of his abuse, I can't work.
So how does he expect me to pay child support for these children if he continues to abuse me?
He literally just said he's seen me in the street.
He's stalking my Instagram.
He's stalking my Facebook, putting pictures to present in evidence of me.
And yet you guys are not doing anything about it.
But yet I'm supposed to sit here and let the same man that almost took my life now be the judge of whether I should go to jail or not.
And I think that's one thing we need to change where.
Certain situations, yes, we should have the option to put people in jail, but not your abuser.
Your abuser should never have the option in any scenario to put his victim in jail, no matter what is the reasoning.
