Shulman asks about all-electric building and heat wave power load
Shulman notes Forest Hills experiences power reductions during heat waves; Fogarty says new codes and zoning sustainability requirements will make the building's load much lower than older comparable buildings.
Now, you said it'll be an all-electric building.
Just so you're aware, when we've had these heat waves, Forest Hills is one of the first ones to reduce power and content and everything else.
So how would that be mitigated?
I can answer that too.
Because of the new codes and because of the new zoning codes, especially that help
with additional sustainability requirements, the load of this building would be much less than, say, a comparable building built five years ago, certainly much less than 10 years ago.
So it's not going to be perfect, but it's going to be a lot less than it could be.
And by achieving these new standards, we're going to reduce that amount that it could have been.
So that's not really a good answer, but it's...
No, you know, but I just want to be mindful of that.
And, you know, there's infrastructure issues and everything else.
