Chair Gutiérrez asks about feedback for next RFP
Gutiérrez asks what feedback they are hearing from providers for the next RFP. Phillips says they hear about compensation, rate flexibility, continuity of care, and family child care support.
And I encourage providers and parents to come and testify because I'm also hopeful that a lot of their feedback will be taken in as you all think about the next RFP.
And I think that there's kind of a lot riding on this design.
Can you share anything about...
Just initially at this stage, kind of what you all have been hearing as far as like these are pressure points for providers as we, again,
not asking you to share anything, but like what are some of the, what's some of the feedback that you're hearing from providers on like, we would really love to see this in the next RFP?
Absolutely.
So as you know,
We will be doing a lot of engagement because it is important for the continuity of the birth to five system for us to do another RFP.
And so some of the things that we have heard are some of the conversation we've had about compensation and making sure that rates are reflecting the costs that providers are sharing with us.
Additionally, there are questions about how we can be flexible as we think about continuity of care in the mix of seats and ages that are needed.
How can we be responsive?
How can we build in responsiveness to families'needs as those might change over the years?
You know, we're also looking at flexibility.
We talked about the family child care piece of it.
And so that's another place where we've received feedback and we'll be looking at that.
Overall, our goal is to be planning ahead, to be in conversation with providers, with families, so that...
As we do think about what the next phase of this system looks like, we can have the conversations that we need to have in order to build a stronger system.
