Chair Gutiérrez asks about headcount and vacancy rate follow-up
Gutiérrez asks for clarification on headcount and vacancy rate. Phillips clarifies the 590 is ECE staff, and the 228 positions are across NYCPS, with more details to follow.
And I also wanted to share that I have the number on the current headcount.
So as of October 4th, we had 590 positions or staff.
Do you have a sense of, so the 590 plus the 228, was that an existing total from administrations before, or is that an increase?
So, no, that is not an increase, and all of the 228 positions are not all for our division.
That's across NYCPS.
Oh, okay.
And so, no, it is, we are still rebuilding.
And it's hard to have an apples to apples comparison because the division over time has had different responsibilities and scopes of area.
So this is an initial investment.
And, you know, we're looking forward to being able to bring in these additional staff in order to have things move smoother and support the providers and children.
And so is the 590 number that you just shared, is that ECE or that's the entire?
That is ECE.
Ah, okay.
Okay.
And would you be able to share maybe later if they're like kind of what the vacancy rate is for ECE?
Yes.
Okay.
Okay.
