Chair Gutiérrez asks about priority for families
Gutiérrez asks about priority levels, such as siblings. Liss explains families are sorted into priority groups based on continuing student status, sibling enrollment, and district residency.
Curious on the priority taken for families.
You mentioned, obviously, kids that lived in the five districts had a priority.
Was there any other level of priority if they had siblings that already attended the center or the space?
Any other?
Yes.
So among the children who applied to 2K, similar to our other enrollment processes, families could list many applications on their program.
And then with it at.
For each individual program, families are sorted into priority groups based on whether they are a continuing student in that program.
So if they had been attending daycare at that site previously, if they have an older sibling enrolled into the program, and if they live in the district.
And so we worked through those different priority structures, and all of that was made publicly available to families so that they could understand whether they fit into one of those priority categories for a specific program.
