New York City Council · Oct 7, 2026 · starts 1:23:39 · 1 min 3 sec

Joseph asks if CUNY was considered for the parent survey. Liss explains the survey was funded by Robin Hood and administered by NORC, and they will look to a variety of research partners in the future.

Rita C. Joseph

I noticed that you partnered with NORC at the University of Chicago on the parent survey.

Rita C. Joseph

Was CUNY ever considered for this research?

Rita C. Joseph

And will CUNY be involved since the workforce you're building will be coming from CUNY?

Rita C. Joseph

Is CUNY being considered for that survey?

Emmy Liss

So the particular survey that you're referencing was actually done by external partners.

Emmy Liss

So that survey was funded by Robin Hood with a grant to New America, who then partnered with NORC at the University of Chicago to administer that survey.

Emmy Liss

So we are very excited for the forthcoming release of the data from that survey, which will give us, for the first time, really clear information about families'child care needs and preferences.

Emmy Liss

But that survey was fielded and funded outside of the city.

Emmy Liss

As we think about our future research agenda and the important questions we need to look at around the workforce, around

Emmy Liss

2K more broadly, we will look to a wide variety of research partners, and we work very closely with many folks at CUNY as we are thinking about those questions.

Thank you.
