Epstein requests complaint counts and outcomes from DCWP, NYPD, DEP
Epstein asks how many pedicab complaints DCWP has received and how many overall complaints went to NYPD and DEP. He requests data on outcomes, resolutions, and whether consumers received money back.
Well, how many complaints have been filed about pedicabs with your agency?
Over this past nine months, we've
received approximately 135 complaints.
That is not the totality of complaints the city receives, however.
Ours would typically be around overcharging or pricing, but if a complaint is related to motorized activity or unlicensed activity or something dangerous happening in the street, that would be routed to the police department.
And do you know how many overall complaints for the last nine months, including the overpricing and the other ones, other through one complaints that might be directed to other agencies?
I don't have information on what complaints the police department receives.
I would say since 2022.
And Carl, can you get that for us?
Yes, sir.
Thank you.
I would say since 2022, the agency has received 335 overcharged complaints.
And so beyond you and the NYPD, there are other agencies that are going to funnel complaints or pedicabs as well?
I believe that the majority of the complaints would go to the police department.
I don't believe that complaints go to the Parks Department.
How about loud music?
Would that go to DEP?
DEP is, yes, also involved in that, but those could also be sent to the police department, too, because they have the ability to enforce on that.
So could you get us all the complaint numbers?
How many went to DEP?
How many went to the NYPD?
How many went to DCWP?
And what those bucket outcomes are?
Were they resolved?
They were, you know, disclosed?
Like, you know, and of your complaints, how many resulted in people getting money back?
