Council Member Maloney Introduces Bill on Seaplane Noise Monitoring
Maloney introduces a bill to install sound meters near seaplane bases and publicly report noise data, responding to constituent complaints about seaplane noise along the East River.
Second, I'm introducing legislation responding to years of constituent quality of life complaints about seaplane noise along the East River.
Right now, we lack consistent public data on how loud and frequent that noise is.
My bill would install sound meters near active seaplane bases and publicly report on what they detect.
If New Yorkers are telling us that something is disrupting their daily lives, government should be able to measure it, understand it, and act on the facts.
I hope my colleagues will join me in supporting both of these bills.
Thank you.
Thank you, Councilmember.
