Aldebol asks about average employee tenure and agency breakdowns
Aldebol asks about the nine-year average length of service and whether DCAS has agency-level breakdowns; Outar says the workforce profile report covers citywide data and agencies can do deeper dives on specific titles.
So the length of time that an employee has been in an agency, you said, is how long before they depart?
The length of time for employees, the average length of time, is about nine years.
Nine years.
Do you have a breakdown by agency in terms of the average length of service?
So with our workforce profile report that looks at the city's workforce as a whole, we're able to share the larger number and then agencies have the opportunity to go in and do a more deeper dive into what their agency population looks like, the title, demographics.
So there's an opportunity to go a little bit deeper.
If you have a specific agency or a specific title that we're looking into, that's information that we can gather from an app application that we have that allows for that deeper dive.
Yeah, I think what I'm interested in is for those agencies that have a larger vacancy rate or higher turnover rate,
if people responded to the survey on those agencies, and if you have an average length of service for those agencies that seem to be...
Having difficulty retaining people and recruiting people.
And so the survey responses may be different across the board.
One of the things that we encourage is that
all agencies share it with the departing employees.
There are agencies and there are employees that have more responses versus others, but we don't right now have a direct correlation between the agencies with the highest retention rate and are they responding to the survey.
That's information that we can definitely get back to you on.
Okay, thank you.
Appreciate that.
