Hanif asks about city agency settlements and employee coordination
Hanif asks who monitors policy changes or training when CCHR settles with a city agency and whether MOPD plays a role. Rivera says CCHR monitors those settlements, and Kamuf Ward says city employee accommodation denials first go through agency EEO processes and DCAS holds EEO information.
I know Councilmember Joseph asked some questions about city agencies as respondents.
When CCHR settles a disability case against a city agency, who monitors the policy changes or training the settlement requires?
And does MOPD play a role in that?
We still do all the monitoring in those cases as well from policy revisions, again, monitoring any training requirements.
We are often requiring that staff members involved or the agency, anyone that is going to have that public contact is doing our trainings.
And so we want to make sure that they're getting the right training every time.
When a city employee is denied reasonable accommodation, how do CCHR, DCAS, and agency EEO offices coordinate?
And how are employees being informed of their rights to file directly with CCHR?
So we would only hear a city agency denial of a reasonable accommodation case if someone, after they go through the internal process at their agency, decides to file with us.
So we don't have general information.
DCAS is the one that holds the information about what is the activity for the EEO officers at any...
given agency, we're only involved if someone files a discrimination claim at CCHR.
