Menin asks about Grok's anti-Semitic posts
Menin cites July 2025 Grok chatbot posts including one calling itself 'MechaHitler' and asks what steps SpaceX AI has taken to prevent such instances; Castillo-Madrid says SpaceX trains models against dangerous activity, evaluates misuse, and monitors after deployment in an iterative process.
In July 2025, Grok's chatbot published a series of anti-Semitic posts, including one in which it called itself Mecca Hitler.
What steps has SpaceX AI taken to prevent these instances from happening?
We take steps to strengthen all of our safeties, and we train models to ensure they don't assist with dangerous activity, evaluate them for misuse, which was the case, and attempts to get around safeguards and loss of control.
And we monitor after deployment as well.
We understand that it has to be an iterative process.
As models evolve, our safety has evolved with it as well.
