Dinowitz argues Seal rigor exceeds basics
Dinowitz says earning the Seal takes more than basics, including eight social studies credits and at least two civic participation points. He says the Seal should be recognized for the rigorous work students complete.
And earning a seal takes more than the basics.
Our last hearing was about Portrait of a Graduate, and there are some out there who are concerned about the rigor of our Regents exams.
But earning a seal takes more than the basics.
To earn a Regents or Advanced Regents Diploma, every student must complete eight semester credits in social studies.
Four in global, two in U.S.
History, one in econ, and one in participation in government.
The SEAL additionally requires at least two points in civic participation from things like service learning, civics projects, civic engagement, electives, extracurricular activities, or work-based learning.
