Q&A

Joseph asks DOE about Seal application process

New York City Council · Oct 20, 2026 · starts 0:43:48 · 27 sec

Joseph asks how many schools applied for 2026 and how many will offer the Seal. Ryle says DOE accepts all schools that apply and works with them to meet requirements.

Rita C. Joseph

And the DOE application process for schools that want to offer the seal end in August, how many schools have applied in the 2026 school year and how many will offer the seal this year, do you know?

Jenna Ryle

We accept all schools that apply.

Jenna Ryle

So if a school applies and has not been able to answer the questions comprehensively, we work with them to do so so that they can offer the seal.

Rita C. Joseph

Thank you.

Rita C. Joseph

I'm going to pass it over to Councilmember Dinowitz, and I will come back with other questions.
