Abreu introduces Intro 1022 for West 125th Street ferry
Abreu says ferry can fill transit gaps, support housing density, and strengthen commercial corridors; West Harlem has waterfront infrastructure.
For many waterfront communities, ferry service has the potential to fill much-needed gaps in transportation, especially where access to the subway system is limited.
It would allow for additional means of accessible transit, support additional housing density, and strengthen local commercial corridors.
That is why I introduced introduction number 1022 to establish regular ferry service at or near West 125th Street.
West Harlem already has waterfront infrastructure and connections to the surrounding transportation network that could be leveraged to better connect this community.
to the rest of the city.
