Wong closes on waterfront access and NYC Ferry future

New York City Council · Oct 20, 2026 · starts 0:35:52 · 43 sec

Wong says the work aims to connect New Yorkers to the waterfront, support neighborhoods and small businesses, and welcomes questions.

James Wong

Ultimately, all this work is about building New York City's connection to the waterfront and delivering a transportation system that reaches more New Yorkers, strengthens neighborhood connections, and works for both city major moments and everyday riders.

James Wong

It is also about making sure the energy generated by waterfront activities supports neighborhoods, small businesses, workers, and communities.

James Wong

New York's waterfront should be a place every New Yorker can reach, enjoy, work in, build a business in, and build a life around.

James Wong

Not a place limited to those who can afford to live there or visit it.

James Wong

That is what we mean when we say transportation connects people to possibility.

James Wong

And that is the future we are building with NYC Ferry.

James Wong

I want to thank you for the opportunity to speak with you today, and we welcome any questions you have.
