Gennaro reflects on what he has learned and calls next panel
Gennaro says he has learned a lot about what DEP could do to reduce its backlog and thanks witnesses for attending. He says the Council must improve the program and calls the next panel.
Thank you very much.
Yeah, we're, well, I'm certainly, you know, learning a lot at this hearing about what DEP could and should do to get rid of its backlog.
And I'm just very happy that so many people came out to give us the benefit of their views.
And, you know, I might eat a candy bar during a hearing, but I'm not all.
I listen to every word and I'm very grateful to the staff, both in the audience and on the dais here, who are processing every word that is spoken.
I never passed a bad environmental law and after 18 years of chairing this committee, we've had a lot of hard challenges.
This is a very hard one.
Everybody can do more, and we just have to figure out whether, because it's just, we're all jammed up.
People get noticed.
It just, anyway, I'm carrying on, but it's just, the purpose of what I'm saying is that I, you know, I'm attesting.
That we will work with all of you to try to get the best result we possibly can.
What we have right now is not working the way it could.
And so we need to do better.
I think everybody agrees on that.
And so let's go out there and do it.
And this council and this panel helped us down that road.
I appreciate it.
Thank you very much.
I did not buy candy bars for everyone.
So I'm sorry.
Is that Pablo?
Hey, man.
I didn't forget you, Cadillac.
It's a person, but his name is Cadillac.
It's a long story.
I need the next panel.
Okay, David Dominguez, I believe, representing himself.
Vlad K-U-C-H-E-R.
Yeah.
More letters is hard to make out, but Vlad.
Justin Bernstein.
Good handwriting.
Sarah O'Brien, even better.
Mike Streeter.
I say B plus with the handwriting.
You want to take these?
Oh, feel that sugar.
Come on.
Which way do, how did we start last time?
All right, we're going to start this and go north.
So we got...
So we got one operating mic.
Yeah, just got to make sure the light is on.
