Chair Riley questions fast-track details and community engagement
He says housing will not be created unless we move together, and asks when details will be available, how communities can participate, and what role neighborhood planning will play.
We all want to move fast, but the housing our constituents need will not be created unless we move together and in the same direction.
Creating healthy, diverse communities take time, investment, and meaningful engagement.
And so while I applaud the vision and the goals of the mayor's block-by-block plan and want the administration to be successful, there are a lot of questions that remain.
When will we start seeing the details of how DCP and HPD intend to build more affordable housing in the fast-track districts?
How can communities in targeted fast-track areas learn about and participate in any of these efforts?
Is there a vision for planning with communities for an affordable and, most importantly, livable New York City?
What is the role of neighborhood planning in this administration?
