Chair Sherman responds on checklist, homeownership, and Willits Point
He appreciates the checklist recommendation, says they are looking at all tools including homeownership, and looks forward to discussions on Willits Point.
Thank you, Councilmember, and thank you for your partnership and many ideas as well that you shared, including Willits Point.
So to your first point, I appreciate that recommendation.
We'll certainly take it for consideration.
I want to make sure that we're listening to the council members.
We can think about a way to make that more routine or more systematized, but certainly appreciate that recommendation.
With respect to homeownership, absolutely.
So when we're talking about...
creating affordable housing opportunities in the fast track districts.
We're talking about everything, right?
Whether it's through zoning, whether it's through HPD affordable housing tools, which include in block by block and expansion of the city's affordable homeownership programs, as well as other opportunities that can be leveraged to facilitate affordable housing.
And so we're looking to deploy all those tools in ways that they make sense in those fast track districts.
And so again, appreciate your insight and your recommendations around that.
And then to your last question, I know that there are ongoing conversations and efforts around Willis Points and certainly look forward to continuing those discussions.
