Council Member Thomas-Henry asks for pipeline numbers; Chair Sherman to follow up
She asks how many approved projects are in the pipeline; Garodnick says he doesn't have the number offhand but will get it, noting most housing is as-of-right.
And do you guys know how many approved projects are in the pipeline?
So I don't have offhand everything that's in at least the DCP pipeline for approval.
We certainly can get that for you.
But I would just note that, as I shared earlier, the vast majority of housing that's being produced in the city is also happening as of right.
There's housing that never comes before DCP or the commission.
And this is why the point that I raised around us also as a planning agency that also has a demography team, right, that's focused on New York City's growth overall,
working more closely with our capital agencies to anticipate needs, even for growth that is not necessarily being facilitated through zoning.
But we can certainly get that for you.
I know in our analysis of the fast-track neighborhoods, we certainly have what was produced in the last year.
We can share that and then give you a sense of what we understand right now from D.O.
be permitted housing approvals.
Thank you.
