Sanchez asks how DOB detects falsified safety logs
Sanchez asks how DOB determines logs are falsified; Shamash says inspectors review not just the current day's log but the history to spot discrepancies, cross-check the average number of workers on site against the logs, and perform SST spot checks, noting construction safety inspections are thorough rather than quick.
Are you checking for cadence of entries into the log?
Yeah.
I mean, that's my understanding.
You go out and speak more.
So they'll review not just the logs for that day, but they'll review the history of the logs and ensure that there isn't any discrepancies in those logs.
And that's just part of the inspection and the inspection checklist that our amazing construction inspectors, walking the sites,
they can take a look at the average number of folks that they're seeing on site, making sure that matches the logs.
And as I said, they'll do spot checks on the SSD requirements.
So construction safety inspections are not quick inspections.
And our inspectors are very thorough when they do those inspections.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
